BEWARE OF POOR AUCKLAND AIRPORT VAN & TAXI SERVICES
Unfortunately, the airport van and taxi market in Auckland is deregulated.
There are many cheap services on offer, that are notoriously unreliable.
Nothing is more upsetting than arriving at your destination, and then being let down or downright terrified, the moment you enter the airport.
It’s not just in Auckland that this happens. This kind of experience happens the world over.
There are however, a few simple things you can do which will minimize the harm.
CONSIDER A LUXURY AIRPORT VAN OR LIMO BEFORE AN AIRPORT SHUTTLE
In many cases, a private, chauffeured, executive sedan will cost you about the same as an airport shuttle bus.
Potentially, you can wait while ten or twelve people are dropped at their addresses before you are finally dropped off.
In tis scenario, an airport shuttle can sometimes take up to an hour and a half extra, when traveling in heavy traffic.
For a few extra dollars, or even the same price in some cases, you can enjoy the luxury of your own private ride in an executive limo with a professional chauffeur.
DO YOUR RESEARCH
It’s worth checking Google reviews of the service you are looking at.
Many websites will have extensive reviews submitted by their own customers.
These are worth looking at.
They are generally most plausible when full names are given.
You will also get a feel for what is legitimate and what is not as you read through the reviews from various customers.
ALWAYS CHOOSE A LICENSED HIRE CAR OR AIRPORT VAN
Licensed cars will have the driver’s license and photo on display inside the limo or car.
While this doesn’t guarantee the service will be good, it does at least give you a better chance.
It’s more likely that you’ll be very disappointed by an unregistered driver, who hustles for rides outside the legal channels.
